what do dermal fillers do?

Dermal fillers can be used in several ways to straighten nasal curves or bumps, or to plump out areas or dents that could have been caused naturally or in an accident. A tip projection can also be carried out whereby filler is inserted into the tip of the nose, giving it a lifted appearance, which results in better symmetry and more defined contours of the nose.

Non surgical nose reshaping can be performed on any patient who wishes to improve the appearance of their nose but does not want surgical Rhinoplasty. However, a large nose cannot be made smaller, although a bump or hump on the bridge can be smoothed out using this procedure. Non-surgical rhinoplasty is ideally suited for refining the nose or correcting small areas where they affect the general look of the nose. At your consultation we will listen to your concerns about your nose and let you know if non-surgical rhinoplasty is the right treatment for you.

20-30 minutes before treatment topical anesthesia is applied to the surface of the nose, which delivers a good numbing effect. The filler itself also contains local anaesthetic and is injected into the required areas.

The procedure is quick, lasting no more than 20 minutes.

You should avoid pressure on the nose for 5 days, so for example, avoid sleeping on the front or side. Minimal bruising may occur which usually resolves in 5 – 7 days. The nose may be tender for 3 – 5 days following treatment.

The results of will last from 6 to 18 months in general. Results vary from patient to patient so the above is a general guide.
